Khrystyna Kurliak, the founder and a fashion designer of Independent Ukrainian luxury brand Khris K, has turned resilience into art, built on three pillars: resilience, transformation, and raw beauty. Khris K was launched during the war, this has given her strength to establish the brand. Founded in Khrystyna’s home country, Ukraine. Studio-production is rooted in Lviv, her dearest city, a place of courage and beauty, where each design is created and brought to life.

KHRIS K is an Independent luxury brand focused on exclusive designs and elevated craftsmanship. I created KHRIS K with the vision of offering an alternative to disposable fashion. I wanted to build a brand that values quality over quantity, timelessness over trends, and individuality over mass production. Every piece is designed to tell a story and celebrate the uniqueness of the woman who wears it. Today, KHRIS K continues to grow internationally while remaining committed to the principles on which it was founded: exclusivity, craftsmanship, sustainability, and authenticity.

Sustainability is one of KHRIS K’s core values. What does responsible luxury mean to you?

For me, responsible luxury means creating with intention. Luxury should not be defined by excess but by quality, longevity, and respect for the resources involved in the creative process. At KHRIS K, we produce in limited quantities and focus on creating pieces designed to be cherished for years rather than discarded after a season.

I believe the future of fashion lies in thoughtful consumption and conscious production. Every decision – from materials and production methods to the number of garments we create – reflects our commitment to reducing waste and encouraging a more sustainable relationship with fashion. Responsible luxury is about preserving craftsmanship while embracing responsibility, proving that beauty and sustainability can exist together.

In a world of fast fashion and mass production, why does exclusivity matter?

Exclusivity is important because it preserves individuality. In a world where millions of identical garments are produced every day, I believe clothing should help people express who they are rather than make them look like everyone else.

At KHRIS K, exclusivity is not about status – it is about authenticity. Some of our creations are one-of-a-kind couture pieces, while others are produced in very limited quantities. This approach allows us to maintain exceptional quality and create garments with meaning and character.

Fashion should feel personal. When a woman wears a piece that has been thoughtfully designed and carefully crafted, she forms a different relationship with it. It becomes more than clothing, it becomes part of her story.
